Psychotherapist
Mar Healy is a psychotherapist and meditation teacher who describes herself as a seeker. For as long as she can remember, she has been trying to understand why people do the things they do, why we are who we are, and why we are here. She sees life as being for the purpose of growth, and she often returns to the image of the lotus, which grows in mud.
Her therapeutic work rests on compassion, mindful awareness, and safety and co-regulation. She takes a non-pathologising view of human behaviour, holding that our suffering and its symptoms make sense in the context of the environments we grew up in and the experiences we have lived through. She sees her role as a guide rather than an authority: the client is the expert on themselves.
Alongside a formal degree in Psychotherapy, Mar has trained in MBSR, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and the Neuro-Affective Relational Model (NARM), the last two specific to early, developmental, relational and complex trauma, the area of healing she is most passionate about. She is also a qualified yoga teacher and works somatically and through a nervous system and polyvagal lens.
Mar writes and records guided meditations and healing poetry, available on her own site and on the Insight Timer app. Her YouTube channel centres on meditation, stress relief, healing and mind wellness. She is a mother of two, raising her children with her partner.

Worth Knowing
Mar Healy is a psychotherapist and meditation teacher who approaches human growth and healing through the lens of compassion, mindful awareness, and nervous system regulation. She holds a formal degree in psychotherapy and has trained extensively in modalities specifically designed for trauma work—Internal Family Systems (IFS), the Neuro-Affective Relational Model (NARM), and mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR)—frameworks that fundamentally shape her clinical philosophy. Her core conviction is that human suffering and symptoms make sense within the context of our lived experiences and the environments we grew up in; she views herself as a guide rather than an authority, centering the client as the expert on themselves. Beyond private therapeutic practice, she writes and records guided meditations and healing poetry, blending the rigor of evidence-based psychotherapy with poetic language that speaks to seekers navigating emotional and relational complexity. People are drawn to her because she offers something uncommon: a rare integration of clinical training, somatic and nervous system literacy, and the vulnerability of someone unafraid to name her own seeking as an ongoing process. Her presence resonates especially with people who've experienced developmental trauma or relational wounds and need a therapist who won't pathologize their survival responses but instead help them understand the intelligence behind their adaptations.
