What Is the Affiliate Engine?

The Affiliate Engine is a built-in referral system that turns every registrant into a promoter for your race. It works through two key capabilities, both fully automated:

Affiliate Links

Automatic · Every purchase

Every registrant receives a unique referral link in their confirmation email. When someone purchases through that link, the referrer earns a commission — tracked and paid via Stripe. You set the commission rate.

Ecosystem Commissions

Passive · Cross-event

Your registrants see other local races after purchasing. You earn a commission on those sales. Meanwhile, other creators' registrants discover your races too.

How Affiliate Links Work

The affiliate link system requires zero setup from you. Here's what happens automatically with every ticket purchase:

1

Athlete Registers for a Race

When someone registers for your race, the system generates a unique affiliate link tied to their account. This happens instantly in the background.

2

Confirmation Email Includes the Link

The order confirmation email includes a “Share & Earn Rewards” section with the buyer's unique affiliate link. They can copy it and share with friends, family, or their social audience.

3

Clicks and Purchases Are Tracked

Every click on the affiliate link is tracked. When someone makes a purchase through the link, the referral is attributed to the original buyer. All tracking happens automatically — no pixels or code to install.

4

Commissions Paid via Stripe

The referrer's commission is calculated based on the rate you set in your event settings and paid out through Stripe. No invoicing, no manual transfers. Both you and the affiliate can see earnings in your dashboards.

No action required. The Affiliate Engine is active on all races on the Elevate and Amplify plans. Affiliate links are generated and distributed automatically for every registration.

Troubleshooting

Affiliate link not appearing in email

Ensure your event is on the Elevate or Amplify plan. The Starter (free) plan does not include the Affiliate Engine. Affiliate links are only included in confirmation emails for paid plans.

Commission not showing for a referral

Commissions are attributed when a purchase is completed through the affiliate link. If the buyer navigated away and returned directly (without the link), the referral cannot be tracked. Commission attribution requires the affiliate link to be used at time of purchase.

Feature not available on my account

The Affiliate Engine requires the Elevate or Amplify plan. Go to Dashboard → Settings → Plan to upgrade. The feature activates immediately upon upgrade — no manual configuration needed.

Want to recruit additional affiliates

By default, every ticket buyer becomes an affiliate. If you want to invite specific people (influencers, speakers, partners) as affiliates without them buying a ticket first, you can generate custom affiliate links from your dashboard.
