“I tell our runners to divide the race into thirds. Run the first part with your head, the middle part with your personality, and the last part with your heart.”

About This Event

Description

- giovedì sera, dalle 18:00 alle 19:30;
- venerdì e sabato, dalle 9:00 alle 12:30 e dalle 14:30 alle 19:00;
- domenica mattina, dalle 9:00 alle 12:30.

Chi guida

L'incontro ha luogo all'Istituto Lama Tzong Khapa, a Pomaia. È possibile alloggiare in sede o presso strutture convenzionate, con pensione completa vegetariana, oppure organizzarsi autonomamente. L'alloggio si prenota separatamente tramite l'istituto.

Da sapere

- Livello: aperto a tutti.
- Partecipanti: fino a 140 persone.

Common Questions

FAQs

In Tibetan Buddhism, Amitabha is the Buddha of Infinite Light and Amitayus is the Buddha of Infinite Life. They are usually understood as two aspects of the same Buddha. Amitabha is often depicted in red, and Amitayus is typically shown in a more ornamented, bodhisattva-style form holding a vase of long-life nectar. The workshop title suggests both will be explored through thangka painting.
A thangka is a traditional Tibetan Buddhist painting, usually of a deity or sacred figure, made according to set iconographic proportions. The workshop is built around the figures Amitabha and Amitayus. The listing doesn't specify whether you will paint a full piece, work on selected stages, or take home a finished work, so check with the organizers before booking.
The workshop is led by Elisa Macci. BrightStar doesn't give further biographical details here, so check the event page or ask the organizers for her background in thangka painting and her teaching approach.
It takes place at Istituto Lama Tzong Khapa in Pomaia, in Tuscany, Italy. This is a Buddhist study and meditation center, so the workshop happens in a retreat-style setting rather than a city studio. Confirm travel and arrival details with the institute, as the listing doesn't cover them.
