House of Om The Mansion — Kabupaten Gianyar, Indonesia

A residential yoga teacher training house in Ubud, Bali

House of Om began in 2016 as a community in Dubai, a place for free yoga classes, workshops and events meant to make yoga and wellbeing accessible to everyone. Its founder, Wissam Barakeh, writes that he wanted to create a space where people could learn, grow and experience togetherness in a more authentic and joyful way. As the community grew, the first teacher trainings followed, and in 2019 the first Bali training took place at House of Om Amertham. The Mansion is one of the school's Bali venues, on Jalan Raya Bona in Gianyar, near Ubud. Students stay and train on the same property. House of Om lists rooftop shalas, open-air halls and bamboo studios as the practice spaces, with gardens, fountains, art throughout the property and a pool. The residential 200-hour training runs about three weeks, with 20 nights of accommodation included. The curriculum covers Hatha, Vinyasa Flow and Ashtanga alongside teaching methodology, alignment and adjustment, philosophy and meditation, ending with two assessments. The published day starts at 6:00 AM with shatkarma, the yogic cleansing practices, then chanting, then a long session of asana and pranayama. Jnana yoga, Yoga Nidra, teaching practice and an hour of evening sadhana fill the rest of the day. The welcome bag includes a neti pot. Rooms come in four categories: a four-bed dorm, a triple, a twin and a private room with a double bed. The first three are listed as female-only. Breakfast and lunch on training days are described as fresh, Ayurvedic-inspired vegetarian meals made with organic ingredients. Dinner is not included. The school is a Yoga Alliance Registered School, and Barakeh's stated hope is that a stay leaves people with more than a certification.
