The Retreat at Urban Plains

The Retreat at Urban Plains, at 4955 30th Ave S. in Fargo, is a residential community of five apartment buildings and two townhome complexes. It sits in South Fargo near schools, shopping and dining, with access to I-94 and I-29. Its name says retreat, but what is described is everyday living: a place to rent a home, not a venue for ceremony, teaching or retreat programs.

The community was established in 2018. Apartment buildings one and two and both townhome complexes date from that year, finished in dark quartz and walnut-colored cabinets. Buildings three, four and five followed in 2021, with ivory quartz and white painted cabinetry. All homes are pet-friendly, with nine-foot ceilings, an in-home washer and dryer, and central air.

The center of the property is a standalone clubhouse shared by residents. Its large clubroom has a full kitchen and two garage-door style openings that open onto an expansive patio with fire pits, grill stations and green space for yard games. The clubhouse also holds a sports simulator and a large fitness room, and the community has underground parking.

Outside the grounds are walking trails, a lazy creek and several playgrounds, with a large dog park less than a mile away. The material names no spiritual, wellness or contemplative traditions and no scheduled programs, so none are listed here.
